About Us - Rye Country Boarding Kennels

Rye Country Boarding Kennels (RCBK), has been owned and operated by Stella and Sam DiEdwards since 1973. Stella’s love for animals goes back to her early teens when she worked at Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium in Manchester, England (UK).

It is during this time that Stella learned the ins and outs of obedience training, kennel care, and dog handling. Stella emigrated from the United Kingdom to the USA in 1957 and quickly found her way to Rye Country Boarding Kennels. Back then, Stella was employed part-time at RCBK while Sam was a student at the Manhattan School of Music. In 1963, he joined RCBK as a part time employee as well.

Through forward thinking and a genuine concern for the health and well being of pets, together they quickly transformed RCBK into a full service boarding and grooming facility of the highest standards. In 1973, they gained ownership and for the past 50+ years have been providing boarding services at the highest level of care. In 1985, Sam Jr. joined the business full time. It’s based on this combined experience that they know what works to make your pets feel at home.

A lot has changed in the last 50 years, but one thing remains the same; their commitment to your pets. They take the time to interact with your pets, getting to know each of them in order to make sure that they are comfortable and well cared for while visiting us.
